Mum of truant girls fined

A MOTHER has been fined for failing to make sure her daughters go to school.
Emma Martin, of Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, did not make sure that her daughters Chelsea Kelleway, aged 14, and Angela Kelleway, aged 13, were attending Withins School.
Chelsea only attended on 53 occasions out of 160 and Angela attended 56.
Martin was issued two fixed penalty notices but failed to pay, and yesterday was ordered by Bolton Magistrates, in her absence, to pay a £200 fine and £123 costs.
